It has the door but it does not open as readily as the one on the reptibreeze. I occasionally use it but not as a rule. I do however use a shop vac for cleaning, so its not as big of an issue.

Ok I also see the 'panther palace' cage on kammerflage kreations website... Debating about which to get. I do want a cage that is longer than what's available everywhere else. Wish I could build my own but that won't be happening.

Being completely honest. They are fantastic cages for the money. Ive never had an issue with the zippers. Never had an animal dig in or even out of the cage. Who ever stated these are issues is just going off of butt wind.

Unless you use distlled water or R/o water and clean the cage diligently. In any case whether metal or reptarium. They will start to look like crap in no time. Either cage will have a typical expectancy of about 5 years unless you dont care about the cage looking like total crap. Things rust, corrode/water deposits, mesh bleaches from the lamps, etc. Just being clear here for the new guys and gales, metal is not going to last a life time...

I use bread ties to attach vines and limbs to the sides of the mesh.

Sadly Frita has had her reptibreez and it is starting to look like crap lol She has had a few months. I dont think this cage will last forever, I just want something his fat butt wont knock over, I want sturdy, I am making him hanging drift wood perches and I want something that can hold them suckers up. I will get a reptarium though for sunning my big boy this summer.

My oustlet is grump yall...I know he is new and hates me still, but I am hoping a huge space will help ease his butt-holish-ness. <---not even a word.

OK so this is probably not what you meant by "an animal" probably you meant a chameleon. And I never had a chameleon dig out of one either. But I had plenty of other lizards make holes in them- mainly bearded dragons trying to breed with females in other cages, but also uromastyx and other lizards. See the piccy of my place a couple of years ago with lots of patched reptariums. There were many, many more heavily patched cages you cannot see in the photo- pre-fire many of my reptariums were more patch than original cage- some only had the zipper original after a decade LOL.

In addition to lizards wearing holes in them, the mesh degrades after time. those I purchased the last few years I used them degraded faster than those purchased 10 years ago- and more zippers failed as well. Some mesh was coming apart on the frame after only a couple of summers outdoors, which is far worse than the ones from a decade ago.

I only ever had 2 "animals" break into cages. The first was that racoon back when I lived in the city. And the cage was aluminum screening not reptarium. The second was a neighbor kid who set all my corucia free one summer- about 10 individuals. Those weren't reptariums either. Opened all the doors. He was a pre-schooler whose daddy was in prison. He also drove his battery powered kiddie car all over the neighbor's garden, flattening it. The only pre-schooler I ever heard of who had the police called on him... (and no it wasn't me- it was the neighbor with the garden LOL)

2 other animals I forgot about that I've seen walk through rows of cages here without bothering them are possums and skunks...

God, that sounds like my 4 year old. Though if he free's my chams he better hope someone calls the cops to protect him from me.

His daddy is not in prison though.

Flux: Yes, definitely not talking about beardies, monitors, etc...Kinda like using one for a dog kennel. Not going to work out well in the long run, lol. That aside, i have heard of wild animals getting into the cage but at the same time i have heard them getting into metal as well. I personally have no story to speak off.

Can anyone tells me if the 24x24x48 DIY cage has the small door at the bottom to open? It looks like it does from the pictures, but I'm not sure!

This kind of makes a good argument for having a glass terrarium. If I get one (I think I will at some point this year) it will be as a auxiliary cage so Jackson can "chill" out in the back yard during the summer and get some real sunlight and fresh air...while being supervised of course!
