Just wondering if anyone recommends this stuff?

I was just online looking around and saw this stuff? Not sure if its good ro not but I have a veiled who has been having some issues lately... to say the least. I will be going to the vet tomorrow but for emergencies, if I can't get to a vet, was wondering if its good to have around?

For hydration gatorade or pedialyte can be used.. but it's high in sugar etc.

I have used Appetite Plus with success on other reptiles but luckily have not had to with a cham yet.

Glad you made it to this site . It was nice speaking with you earlier today.

The items that you mentioned have some value but may have "issues" in some circumstances. Usig more than one of them at a time may end-up duplicating ingredients that could possibly have negative effects.

As Syn mentioned, you can use a 50/50 mix of water and Pedialyte (generic is fine) in circumstances where there is concern about advanced dehydration.

These products have many useful ingredients but not much info on exactly how much of each is actually in a dose . This could become an issue, for example, if you are having problems with vitamin A or vitamin D3 which are in several of these products. It's kind of like what happens with human, over-the-counter cold remedies.

It is probably reasonable to have a box of each product it in your chameleon medicine chest and then get plenty of info from your vet etc. before using them .

How do I "force" her to drink the 50/50 mix of pedialyte and water? As she is not currently drinking anything... I just want to do something to hold her over until tomorrow... and I'm going to look up the bug juice right now... eww

I normally fill a dropper or plastic syringe (without the needle of course) with what you want them to drink. Then I spray them down good with your normal spray water and get them to start drink from a branch or from their heads etc. When they start drinking is when I start dripping a drop of the solution onto the side of their mouth as they lap it up. If you have a more fiesty individual, you may have to get a little touchy feely and try with a little more force, but remember, the more you hold them down, the more they wiggle, so be careful and try to find a way that allows them to drink it themselves.

she's so lethargic now that she won't even get mad at me when I hold her and open her mouth. no matter what I do... she won't open her mouth. hopefully she can just hang in there until tomorrow when I can get her to a vet!!! sigh
