my friend was looking into them - she likes desert things- I told her I don't know if you can even get them - does anyone know about them or keep them - would this be a good choice for her? I told her to start w/ a veiled ;)

They cannot be exported because they are so rare. You will not find any around here

They are not rare they are list as a species of Least Concern which is the lowest rank given by the IUCN Red List. It is that they come from the Namib Desert which is extremely inaccessible and from mostly located South Africa and Namibia who does not exports much of their wildlife at all.

Jurgen has 5 pairs and has got hatchlings hatching now in Germany. Check the end of this thread.

I should have specified rare as in hard to collect. Thanks for the correction.

thanks - that is sure an amazing thread - so many pic - she keep bearded dragons, but likes chams, so she was trying to find something that would fit in w/ what she already has - I had her come on here as a new member- so she can start learning :D

LOL Actually if Paul or someone one eager can put the paperwork together and Jurgen is willing this is a species I want to work with. Preferably after school and I have finally settled though.

How would you go about keeping them? I've seen them in the Animal Planet documentaries, but idk how I'd go about it.

Something like a bearded dragon terrarium since they naturally live in a desert?

Check out some of the terrariums that Jurgen put together on the link I posted. That should start you off properly.
