do you have your basing dome on the mesh?

im asking this question as many have but many people say it will burn them.wheres yours?

It depends on if that screen is accessible or not. I used to use my dome light straight on top of the mesh, basking branches 8 inches down and the screen top wasn't really accessible.

mines on the mesh, I noticed mostly hatclings and juvies climb all over and directly under but i use only a 25-40 watt for heat for babies.

well my bulb is 5 inches up inside the dome so do you think this would cause a problem? i use a 60watt and my 10 week old panther likes to get close to it.although the mesh is just warm and not burning hot,surly you would be able to tell if it was burnable?

Yes, but my basking bulbs range from 40 to 60 watts.

I use a 60 watt in a heat dome that sits directly on the mesh. The basking branch is about 8 inches or so from The top. He never goes on the top mesh.
