do panthers bite

my male panther is one yr old. i can not hold him or even get near him he opens his mouth and gets bigger. what i want to know is will he bite me?

I have been bitten by a couple over the years. They may scratch the skin enough to bleed but mostly its just startling.

Just reach in from under him and hold him from below. he might bite or might not, Once the ice is broke he might be just fine.Get some thin gloves if your worried about getting bit. There bite is like a slight pinch, it will be ok My big boy Jethro has days that i just close his door and walk away.Just rember to keep it positive.Like take him across the room to freerange. or take him to a plant by a window .
