Do misters leak?

I've done a lot of research on misters while I've been considering getting a chameleon. But the only thing I have not found out is how messy they are and can/will be. Can anyone tell me just how big of a mess the misters can make outside of the cage if I am using aluminum screen. This could be a problem as I have carpet floors all through out the house, and the LAST thing that I need is for my carpets to mildew.

There is potential for water to get on the floor but you should be able to cover a side or back with something to prevent making a mess all over the floor. I would test it out in a tiled area to see how it goes for a day before running it full time on the carpet. Drainage is key for keeping the watering up without a mess. I see you are in Dallas.
