Do I need heat lamp

The top part of my enclosure runs at 77 during the day. Do i need to provide him a heat light to bask in as well?

Bill strand recommends to have a heat lamp on until it starts raising ambients temperatures inside of the enclosure. On colder days here I will have it on all day but sometimes I’ll turn it off if the back corner of my house heats up in the afternoon so I can keep his temp gradient 70-80.

I live in forida and even with my ac set to 74 his basking area without a heat lamp is already 77. him being just 3 month old veiled i didnt want it over 80 degrees bit maybe i do need one like a 50 watt

If you put one on try a very low wattage regular round bottom incandescent white bulb say a 40 watt. Like what you would use for your house lights. Do not used a focused heat bulb or basking bulb with a flat bottom. Will produce too much heat.
