hey, this is a pic of my friends veiled chameleon about 4 months old, i was noticing his nostills look a little blocked or it might just be me, i want you opinion, please post http://i50.tinypic.com/2zizukj.jpg
to me his nostrils look like he 1....has a upper respiratory infection ....or two hes been fed to much calcium or other supplements .... it may be expensive i paid 85$ but if you dont take him in he can die from a upper respiratory infection and its inhumane and cruel to not get him takin care of properly
Sometimes chams produce a white chalky crust around their nostrils. This is a sign of slight dehydration or possibly mineral salts from hard water. It can be reduced by increasing misting and drinking. The nostril can sometimes be blocked by it until it gets rinsed away. I don't see any white in the photo and the nostril looks a bit swollen. Any other symptoms such as sticky mucous in the mouth? Hard breathing and gaping?
