do chams nails grow back?

if a cham breaks a nail would it grow back? if they do how long do they take to grow back?

They can, if there is enough of the claw left.
I think they usually don't though.

so if they completely come off they wouldn't grow back? the reason why i ask is i just noticed that my cham is missing a nail. i dont know if i bought it like that or something happened in his cage because i just noticed hes missing a Nail today. i dont know how hard it is for them to break a nail so i dont know if there cage is unsafe for them to climb around. its a screen cage and its not that tall, even if he fell from the very top of his cage and landed right on his nail/nails i dont think they would break. i made a screen cage around a square pot with a real plant(I'm not sure what the name of the plant is, sorry) so the bottom is potting soil so if he fell it would such a rough fall.

usually, bt you shouldent cut their claws, they use them for climbing and grabbing branches

They often rip out if they crawl on mesh screen that is too small.
Their claws get stuck in the screen.

Half of a half inch. Is that like two eights. haha! I assume you mean quarter inch mesh which wouldn't cause any nail problems.
