DIY cage

I used regular metal screen (like for the screen doors) for the roof and fiber screen for the walls just buy by eye if the wholes are small enough to keep crickets in then that is fine

yes, you can pick these up in the same Aisle at lowes where the supplies for building screen windows and doors are.

Depends on the size of the chameleon. I use regular aluminum or fiber screen for my Jacksons, but used the pet screen for my panther. I just worry about the strength of the screen vs use. They are all in the same isle at home depot or lowes.

Wondering if the pet screen is cricket proof :). I like it better since it is softer but would crickets eat through this? Also I think it is darker right?

Which one is most cricket proof and best visibility

It is darker, so I still use the lighter screen on the door and the top. I haven't seen any cricket issues.

I would suggest not using the fiberglass type of screen. They do make a vinyl coated pet screen, also available in most home improvement stores, and the only downside to it is the visibility. It is O.K. if you have really good lighting, but otherwise I would use the charcoal colored aluminum screen. Do not use the fine mesh insect screen, as this could be a problem for your chams if they climb the screen. Their nails can easily get stuck. As for any being cricket proof, if the crickets are large, only the metal types will stand a chance, IMO. ;) I used the pet screen on the sides of my enclosure, and acrylic on the door and rear. The top is aluminum screen so the lights do not melt the coating.
