Okay, I couldn't meet with the guy from Craiglist because of schedule conflicts and didn't want to wait 2 more weeks. So I took a shot and built my own. I made it from a broken laundry bin my wife was going to toss. A 10g screen top fits snug just a bit to long. This will house my senegal and measures 22"H x 19"L x 10.5" W. Tell me what you think.

Awesome job at recycling!!! Very creative! I dont know anything about size vs cham species, but very cool. What kind of screen is that?

How did you cut that plastic so even! We have tried cutting the stuff and are left with a bad case of the jaggies.

Thanks for the compliments.
Betty, it is black fiber glass mesh. The kind used for the screens on your windows. The frame is plastic and I stapled the mesh to it. The bootom is press board. Only problem was the top palstic was broke so I used crazy glue and some plexi-glass to re-inforce it. I cup feed and don't let the food roam so I don't they shouldn't eat their way out.

I assume your "door" will be the lid. Might be a bit awkward at times (cleaning, feeding etc) but is super clean looking. What age Senegal are you going to house in it? Will the lighting etc be suspended above? Can't tell the scale, but it looks a tad narrow. Great for a young'in!:D

Yes, a hamper. I used a single edge razor blade to cut it. I stapled to the legs and kept flipping until I was all the way around. This way I made one cut and then stapled it down. Then stapled to the top, no cuts. Last stapled was the bottom and used the wood as a guide to cut.

Measurements are in first post.

I am not sure of age but it as an adult from what I read and posted here few weeks back.

You will need to seal the bottom-that press board will swell up and crumble away. Crickets also eat through that kind of mesh. It does look like a nice clean little cage though.

Julirs, Thanks for info. I cup feed and remove what isn't eaten and feed to my beardy at the end of the day. I plan to use a plastic pan to place over the bottom to capture water, dirty, etc.

my suggestion is not to feed the rest of unwanted feeder to other chameleons or reptiles to avoid cross contamination.
