discolored ribs

So i just got my veiled chameleon back in September of 2021 and based off of what the pet store told me, i believe it is an 8-9 month old female. a few days ago she had a fall from the top of her enclosure and landed on a piece of driftwood at the bottom of her enclosure. she now has discoloration on her ribs and i don’t know if it is bruising or something totally unrelated to the fall but i was hoping someone could give me some insight of what they think it is and if i should take her to a vet?

Hi and welcome to the forum. From your pics I do see some things of concern and I’d like to give you what may seem like an interrogation. Really though, it’s just to check that all of your care is correct for your pretty little girl and if not, to help guide you so that it is. Asking twenty million questions is the best way to do this. So, if you’re willing, copy and paste the following with your answers and more pics of your entire enclosure.

Chameleon Info:

• Your Chameleon - The species, sex, and age of your chameleon. How long has it been in your care?
• Handling - How often do you handle your chameleon?
• Feeding - What are you feeding your cham? What amount? What is the schedule? How are you gut-loading your feeders?
• Supplements - What brand and type of calcium and vitamin products are you dusting your feeders with and what is the schedule?
• Watering - What kind of watering technique do you use? How often and how long to you mist? Do you see your chameleon drinking?
• Fecal Description - Briefly note colors and consistency from recent droppings. Has this chameleon ever been tested for parasites?
• History - Any previous information about your cham that might be useful to others when trying to help you.

Cage Info:

• Cage Type - Describe your cage (Glass, Screen, Combo?) What are the dimensions?
• Lighting - What brand, model, and types of lighting are you using? What is your daily lighting schedule?
• Temperature - What temp range have you created (cage floor to basking spot)? Lowest overnight temp? How do you measure these temps?
• Humidity - What are your humidity levels? How are you creating and maintaining these levels? What do you use to measure humidity?
• Plants - Are you using live plants? If so, what kind?
• Placement - Where is your cage located? Is it near any fans, air vents, or high traffic areas? At what height is the top of the cage relative to your room floor?
• Location - Where are you geographically located?

The more I look at that pic. I'm thinking she might heal on her own. But to be on safe side. You might want to consider a vet visit

And do you have a lay bin in the enclosure? Washed Play sand about 8 inches. Keep moist enough so that when you sqeeze it it holds shape without dripping. And a few branches going to the lay bin. Because she might be carrying eggs

I think a vet visit is a good idea, but more for the burns along her back rather than the bruised ribs. Those will need vet treatment.
@ashleyybabbyyy I really hope you agree to a husbandry review as I suspect that you’ve been given some bad information about keeping your girl. It’s so difficult to find what is actually correct for chameleons. https://chameleonacademy.com/chameleon-basics/ is the very best source for correct and up to date care guidelines. Neptune the chameleon on YouTube is also a great source.
