Dirt eating

So I have noticed that my Veiled likes to eat the dirt (i use the eco coconut husk ground stuff) occasionally. Ive read a few things saying it helps him digest, others saying mineral lacking. Im afraid of impacting. What are some ideas and does anyone else have this problem goin on?

well my dude did the same..
but that was in the time i fedded him to much
i know now wax moth larvs..
i think he saw them charged down and
eat old little whit tiny skin parts..
now in his new cage he hardly goes down
and i still use substrate! ;)
asslong the substrate is realy realy fine i wouldnt be worried ;")

You should remove the substrate from your cage so you won't have to worry about impaction. All you need are a few paper towels or some newspapers to be safe. If you are referring to what you have in your plants, take some rocks and cover your dirt with the rocks so your cham can't get to the dirt/coconut fiber to make it safe. I know they will eat the stuff because they will poop it out and you can see it. My girls will eat the sand in their laying bin and the next day they have sandy poop. I only put their laying bin in their cage when I know they are gravid and getting ready to lay. Just what I do.
