so i know that its bad for chams to eat the dirt from their plants, incase of pesticides and what not, but my dirt shouldnt have nay, and i coved most of the dirt with rocks. but when i come in to see presley, he has dirt on his mouth. it like he waits for me to leave the room and he climbs down to the bottom of his plant and somehow finds away to eat some dirt.
is dirt eating actually harmful to them?
why do they eat it anyway? id he missing something from his diet?
any help would be greatly appreciated :)

IF you have organic soil then it won't harm him, but in large quantities it may cause impaction. They eat it when they are not recieving enough minerals in their diet, what do you supplement with. I would recommend Sticky Tongue farms (Indoor formula)as a part of you supplementation.

i do calcium with d3 and herptivite once a month, an then calcium every other feeding. i think i missed a few days of the calcium ..maybe thats the problem? ill keep a better eye on that and see how it goes, hopefully hell stop eating dirt :)

No that wouldnt do anything, he is missing out on certain minerals he's not getting in his diet. Buy some Sticky Tongue formula, it has all kinds of trace minerals that will be great for him.

ooh, alrighty :) thanks
do you have any suggestions on where to buy it?

lllreptile has it, I dont know if they ship it to Cananda though. You should use it every other ca/d3 feeding instead of calcium, and that will give him what he needs.

alright, well ill check all the stores around here :p then when i go to the reptile expo, and if not ... that will be a hole nother problem :S
