Digestion

How long do 1-2 month old Veiled Chams take to digest food?

Shouldn't be too long, my 3-4 month old normally goes once maybe twice a day so I would imagine a few hours. I feed twice a day 2-3 crickets, once in the morning and once a couple hours before bed time.

I have been told to not to feed any closer than 3 hours before bedtime, something because they need to bask and get the energy to digest it or else it will not be digested while they are sleeping.

Yeah that is why it is a couple of hours if that close to bed time. She always has healthy droppings so I don't think anything is wrong, and her urates are great. I mean how long before bed do you feed yoshi?

well I am asking b/c my cham was still chubby looking a day after he ate a roach.

Yeah I only use crickets which are much lighter than a roach. How long before bed time did you feed him and how long did he bask? I'm sure he digested it fine but he may be chubbin it because he was basking, I know my girl will sort f like flatten out and turn on her side and bask. Just an idea

Younger chams you can feed until they're done. Adult chams should have limited feedings which could include every other day feedings...

Like max said, feed until he is done, especially with the younger ones. I agree. But since yours is a male do that, I have been told by other members on the forums that I should limit my Female veileds intake at her age and was told to cut back on the 7-8 a day I would give her.
