Difference Between the 2

I'm trying to figure out the difference between the Masoalas and Morensettras. Can anyone help? I know they are from different locales but to me they basically look identical except maybe 1 might be a little darker, but that could be just the particular animal i'm looking at.

How do you tell them apart?

Well I havnt really looked at the mosoalas but I know the maroansetras. Its not too far from Tamatave and I hear you can find tamataves aswell as maroansetras in the same location.
Thats why you get some people that say they have tamataves but they are more like a green with orange and red which sounds more like maroansetra to me, I have seen a tamatave and they are red and white.

Masoala tend to have more red, and fire up orange with red barring. Maros are usually mostly solid orange.

On a side note to that, by far the largest panther chameleon I have ever seen was a masoala.

The one i'm looking at is all orange? Let me rephrase, the parent of the one. Any other way to tell?

So i'm guessing it is ENTIRELY COLOR!!!! So if the daddy is orange, means more chance of being not being a Masoala?

Just wanted to make sure that he wasnt a sponsor on here first. If I'm not suppose to mention the name i'm sure the moderators will delete it. And don't get me wrong i'm not dishinng him at all, just trying to make sure i'm getting what i want.. The chams are from Cleanline Chameleons and here is a pic of the daddy. Is it a Masoala? Well i tried but i couldn't transfer the pic. Here is the link.

I forget which... But at one time you could google that locale name and it would zoom to Chris's house! hahahaha where the heck is that old thread.?.?.

Tamatave is quite a long way from Maroantsetra and by definition you can not get both in the same location since locales are by definition associated with a location. You aren't going to find a Tamatave in Maroantsetra unless it was released there. The two are difficult to differentiate at times but they are not the same and are not found in the same locations.

Masoala is a peninsula and park at the base of that peninsula. At the tip of the peninsula is the city of Maroantsetra. As a result, the two locales are very similar to one another. I've always found that true Masoalas (based on animals photographed there) tend to look like integrades between Maroantsetras and Sambavas (one of the next closest locales).

Just a quick note that after speaking with numerous people though pms, that the chams that Cleanline Chameleons has are in fact Masoalas. They can be very difficult to distinguish but i've been told how to tell me the difference as well as vouch for the company. Thanks for all the help.
