did my veiled chameleon like being held?

I came home from school today and I saw my veiled chameleon on the door of his tank and decided to try to pick him up. After a while (6-7 minutes) I finally had him on my hand and he started to turn to a dark shade of green. Does that mean he didnt mine being handles?

One more question, how do you pick up a veiled chameleon when he is being hissy.
I put im on a stand on top of the cage and he climbed to the cage roof and I cant get him down. and tips?

Dark colors usually indicate stress. If he is hissing to not pick him up.

He didnt really hiss( well only once) at first he puffed up a litter but once I got him to my hand he turned dark green, not brown so what.
