hey everyone, I was wondering what are some specific things to look for when determining through different locale of panther chameleons? because sometimes ambilobes look a lot like sambavas, nosy be's look a lot like ambanjas, and so on..
I just cant really determine which is which, except for a few exceptions. can someone help me?

thanks!

The only thing I can suggest is to look through lots of photos, especially on breeder websites. The more familiar you are with them the easier it will become to tell them apart. Some do look very similar and sometimes there is a lot of variety within a locale, so it takes time. It took me a few months to be fairly comfortable identifying panthers. Just photos, photos, photos!

Sambavas usually have a U bar, whereas, Ambilobes have a Y bar. Ambanjas have a deeper Y bar or a V bar and have a more pronounced rostral process.Nosy bes have a Y bar like Ambis but are mostly blue/green with some specks of red and a splash of yellow around the mouth. Screameleons has really good examples of what each locale should look like. That is where I spent most of my time staring at pictures before I bought my first one. There are always exceptions in any locale but what I describe above is the typical or what you would expect to see.
