Dehydrated or not dehydrated?

I have an 11 month old female veil who i think might be dehydrated. After reading this forum, they tell you if they are dehydrated, their urates or usually orange or yellow. Hers are really white, it reminds me of a fried egg, with a little bit of yellow in the middle. But what concerns me is her casque does look a little of the skinny side, which is usually a sign of dehyration. I will put her in the tub for a half hour to see if i can get her casque plumped up, but i'm wondering if i should even bother or if i am just being a worry wart I'm also going to double check her temps to make sure everything is alright there too..Which is the best way to tell for dehydration on a veiled, a thin casque or white urates?

I haven't seen her drink in a couple of days, but that doesn't mean she hasn't. Sometimes when i mist her she drinks, but she hasn't even done that and my camera isn't working. I'm looking for batteries, hopefully that is all itis and then i will try to post a pic. thanks

Here are the pictures! I hope this works, haven't done it before. The picture isn't very clear, but i think you can get a pretty good idea how thin her casque is. I have 2 other females and 2 males and none of them have casques this thin. But hers has the whitest poop of them all. Which one do i pay attention to? I tried to put the pictures on but they said they were too big for the forum, but i had shrunk them. How do i fix it so i can post them?

I hope this works, i did what you said, i opened an account, uploaded the pictures, then copied and pasted where it said "Forum code that displays a thumbnail that links to your full-sized image", but it doesn't look right. HELP!

she looks fine to me.

The poop however seems to be very runny, this could be okay if she is eating silk worms. If not I would be concerned. I'm sure someone with more experience will come and chime in before too long.

Best of luck,
tydis

she doesn't eat worms at all. She is the only one who doesn't, but i think when i misted her cage alot of water might have gotten on the bottom, but if that is not the case, you think that would be a problem? I thought if just meant she was really hydrated. I'll keep a better eye on it tomorrow. Thanks for the input.

Not dehydrated.......

She does not look dehydrated from your picture. Her eyes look full and her body looks plump and filled out. Are her poops a good size? The one pictured looks like lots of urates and very little poop. Is she eating well? Her urates do look a bit runny in the picture. When chameleons are being purposely hydrated (recovering from an illness) their urates are runny like that. This may be due to your concern about dehyration and anything you have been doing to correct it such as the soak or a shower. The poop part looks very solid which is good. As long as she is eating and her poops reflect that I would not worry. Some chameleons are good about drinking in secret.

Lol. We all do it. At least there is an egg ben there. It looks a bit small though? Shouldn't it be a bit taller?

That is not an egg that is just part of her poop. And yes , thanks to another person on this forum who suggested that, all my females now have an egg-laying pan in their enclosure. Although her we will not mate because she did not grow right. She is only 1/2 the size of her sister so she will remain a loved pet. But i have to admit of all the chams i have she is the meanest. If you try to take her out of her enclosure for any reason you can hear her hiss from the other room. Little girl, big mouth. Just like her mommy. lol

Yes it is very small. If i see that they are really going to lay eggs, i have a bigger bucket that i put them in. The one in there cage is just in case i miss something and they want to dig. If i see any additional signs i take them out to lay eggs. One reason it is small is alot of times they poop or pee in it and i have to change the dirt and clean it out.
