Decreased appetite

My 7 month old panther has had a decrease in his appetite, when we got him 2months ago he was an eating machine, about 10 crickets a day and occasional meal worms for treats. He is only eating a few a day now, he will still take meal worms from me however. As I posted in another thread yesterday, I think he is ready for his big boy cage, that I have to order. Not sure if that would affect is appetite, or if he is just not having a growth spurt right now?

He's probably around that age when their appetite does decrease naturally, my little baby panther started eating like a horse when I moved his basking dome to his favorite. Has yours been basking as much as normal? Also, there was recently a thread where a member reported that his panthers' appetites would literally double after basking in natural sunlight, maybe you should give that a try. Also, he does appear to be more than ready for his big boy cage. I vote a 2x2x4, my little 3 month old loves all the space he has in his 2x2x4.

what are the basking and ambient temps?

also how old is the uvb light?

improper temperatures or a uvb light that is old and not giving out enough uvb can also cause a decrease in appetite.

if these are on point, he may just be getting to that age where his appetite decreases some as he isnt growing at the same rate, like Kaianuana said :)

and i agree that he is definitely ready for an adult sized cage!

Temps are 91-71. And I got both the heat bulb and the UVB bulb 2 months ago when we brought him home.
