De-worming treatment

I took a fecal sample from my panther chameleon to the vet yesterday and found out that he has a protozoa (flagellated parasite) infestation. Does anyone know if there is any other possible way to treat this without using the vet's de-worming medicine? Perhaps a more natural way? Also, does anyone know of any ways to help prevent this from happening again other than continuing to only feed food from the pet store (not wild), and keep the cage clean?

The vets de-worming treatment will be best. You will also need to use a bleach solution to clean the entire cage. Also, some chameleons have been known to get parasites from pet store bought bugs. The only way to be sure they dont have parasites is to breed them yourself.

A lot of keepers have experienced a lot of success with Reptaid. This product is considered more "natural" but if you ask me...I frankly wouldn't care if something was "natural" or not in this situation. Do you really want to second guess a vet that has years of education and experience only to use a more "natural" treatment that may or may not work?
