well, one of my bratty girls managed to pull a cup of olive oil onto her self - I was feeding banana roaches - and I coat the top of the cup about an inch down w/ olive oil so they can not climb out- SOMEHOW she got out - I did not even see her make the escape  but I heard a crash on the table - and there she and the table are covered in oil - she is as coverd as if I dipped her in it - but it is not in her eyes or face or mouth - all over her back, legs and body - how do I get this off ???
thanks

I'd take a wet paper towel with dish soap, like Dawn, and just wipe and rinse in the sink. Gently, but soap is the only thing that is going to get oil off.

Try puting some plants in the shower then facing the shower heed towards the wall of the shower and turning the shower on until its warm then place him on the plants so the water bouncing off the wall hits him so the olive oil whashes off.:)

Think the oil would repel the water and not wash off with water alone. I don't think. Unless the water was really hot, which is not good.
Crafty little things eh?
I agree with olimpia. Or try dry wiping gently, with paper towel to get the excess off before the soap and water on the towel, or a q tip.

well, a combo of watered down Dawn, Q-tips, paper towel and one MAD chameleon got the job done pretty much- I have NO idea how she got out - so now she is in a screen cage for now - I am just thankful it did not get in her eyes - thanks for the help guys

I would have said hold her under hot soapy water for 20 minutes!! Ok I am kidding, but that cham gets in more trouble than all your others together.

TELL ME !! I am sending her to YOU ! she is also the one who hitched a ride on my bathrobe as a baby, and I found her 2 hrs later on my chair downstairs !! worse than velcro that one is !!! :p

I'd have just wiped her down with a rag and let her be.

Back in the old days, it was popular to treat mites by wiping snakes or lizards in vegetable oil. Usually for some reason a few days after treatment, the oil had the effect of causing the animal to shed. At that point, oily problem solved...

yes, I think the others are now jealous of her soft skin :p she does feel really soft, I got her out of "jail" and checked her skin - it feels weird - lol I did not really use a lot of soap - I did not want to hurt her skin or take off to much natural oil - and after trying to hold her still, and her "karate chopping " the Q-tips away ( she is pretty good in the martial arts :p ) all and all - I dont think it was worth trying to get it all off by repeating it tonight - but leaving it that thick on her would have worried me too - I think she will be fine - but what a thing to deal with  lol
