dark spot on lip

Newton is 5 months old and every once in a while I see this dark spot on his lips. It doesn't always seem to be there. Something I should worry about or watch closely? Thanks

Hi Nancy. I think it looks as if he is rubbing it on something. I don't think it is anything to worry about. Nothing like mouth rot or anything like that. Are you sure Newton is a he? At 5 months a male should have more coloring than all the peach I am seeing? Can you post a full body pic, with the tail/vent area?

Hi Carol, the day after posting this he (it) started shedding, so maybe that was part of it. I was told he was a male when I bought him, so I am hoping that is true. I am hoping he is done shedding today so I can try to get a picture for you. He still seems so small, maybe they had his age off as well. Thanks for info.
