Damaged Horns?

This is a wild caught male Kinyongia Tavetana. He has been in the country for a month and a week now. From the pictures I see of other people's specimens of these tavetana. I am worried that his horns have been shortened some how. Can someone please take a look at these pictures and tell me what is wrong with his horns, and if he is doing well in overall health? Thank you.

They are normal length from others I have seen.

The tips might be a little bit rubbed but they look ok. He looks good. They are a nice little species!

Looks fine to me. Ever so slight rub on the tips, but not bad for WC.

Oh glad that he is in good health. Horns seemed better in another members photos in the Kinyongia section. I plan on getting a female in a half of year or less. Would love to breed.

On a side note, I have installed my spray nozzles from my exo terra monsoon, on the top screen so that it rains down on him. Unfortunately I didnt plan it to well with placement. I placed them towards the back, about a half of an inch from the middle of the screen, facing the back of course, behind my light fixture which is in the front of the terrarium. One on the left and one on the right. It seems that they only wet in 1 direction because the nozzles are more of a straight shot mist and not a spread pattern. So in other words it does not wet the entire enclosure, the plant I have in there is up to the top of the terrarium in most parts. I have cut some back to allow the nozzles to spray from in a wide direction. So, because now that mainly only 2 areas towards the back are getting misted, and not his entire enclosure, will this allow him to still want to drink? The way the nozzles spray it seems he will have 2 areas to lap water from...I have observed him search and run to leaves for water drops, so he knows where to find the water and doesnt really need it raining on him. I just was always use to the entire enclosure to be wet for them to want to drink. The main question is this, will he go to drink from the spots the nozzles are spraying on? Wont he get accustomed to the spots being sprayed and eventually go to them to be sprayed on? Especially on a set spraying schedule? I am doing 2 mins every 4 hours, but if it floods my plants and terrarium, I might need to do another timing! Sorry for the run on paragraph!

He will see the light reflecting off the drops and go to them. My chams always remember where the drips would come from and wait there if they were thirsty. I think it was more of they got trained to the fact I watered about the same time each day and knew the water was coming soon. You will be fine as long as he can find drops of water in his travels.

I think that with a two minute spray four times each day you are going to see a build up of water though.

Right now I am forced to mist him with a spray bottle until the plants soil dries. I planned on doing a misting of 12-16 seconds every 4 hours, thats a mist 3 times a day. 12-16 seconds is enough to get 2 areas to cover leafs in water drops. I possibly could do a misting every 2 hours for 12 seconds once the soil dries. But where my nozzles are now most of the water from the nozzles go in to the soil of just 1 potted plant. So I do not know how that will work out. Plus it being wet every 2 hours, I dont think gives time for it all to dry COMPLETELY. Thanks for all the help.

I don't know what the spray pattern is supposed to be on the Exo system. I know on my system I get a very fine mist that is about 20" wide. I use Rainmaker noozles with a pump that produces 100psi

My system is set to run one longer spray to provide a chance to drink in the morning and a short spray just to bump humidity a bit later in the day. I use all screen cages and control my humidity for the whole chameleon room so I don't need to spray multiple long sprays.

I was just telling you to see if you would think 12-16 seconds is long enough? I was told they like showers best. But I cant do that without a drainage system. So I was going to do short sessions 3 times a day and hope he goes to the droplets of water in the area the nozzles are spraying. I bought some nozzle heads from home depot that advertise a fogging spray. It is more of larger droplets that get sprayed at a 360 angle. So I will need to cover 3 sides of the tank with some sort of background so water doesnt get everywhere. I was thinking tree fern panels. Anyways the nozzle heads from home depot spray in larger drops not a fine mist so shorter sessions will get everything wet without drenching the plants soil.

I thought you said you were using a exo terra monsoon.

If the system is making large drips then yes you'll get some drops on the end of leaves. Watch it run at that set up and see what it does.

Sorry for the confusion. I am just using different nozzles than the standard exo terra monsoon nozzles. Better coverage.
