Cyrus is leaking urates

Last night, I heard him in his cage and checked to see if he'd fallen (has a head problem and this sometimes happens so i have to "fix" him). I picked him up and felt wet on my hand. Saw urates but thought maybe I had just gotten some wet that were on a leaf nearby when I watered his plant. SO I placed a paper towel under him and sat him on his cork bark for the night. This morning he did in fact have dried white on his bulge and tail area. Nothing firm, just watery.

has anyone else had these symptoms? He had a little trouble with his hemipene not retracting the other day but some warm soaks and maneuvering got it back in. (no sign of it now)

He just had a fecal about 2 months ago and was clean. he gets no wild caught food and not even crix from the pet store. Mainly hornworms, silkies and superworms (that I breed).

Has anyone had this happen? He has been eating a lot of silkies b/c this is what I have right now but this is nothing new for him.

thanks,
lele

I would get him some hard bodied food such as crickets and roaches. All those worms could be making him have loose stool.

How long had it been since the last soaking? Has he had a bm since the last time? I once had a big panther pass a decent volume of liquid with a little white urate mixed in after soaking him. It was at least much later in the day, if not the following day. I think it was water that he'd uptaken into his cloaca mixed with a little "other stuff."

Right, that crossed my mind, too but he has sometimes gone weeks (months?) on almost exclusively silkies and hornworms. He is not a big cricket fan. I am getting some today for my tarantula and will offer them to him but he will likely not take them. Roaches are pretty much out of the question. I have to order too many and my landlord would definitely be quite unhappy. I used to raise them but no more.

Loose stool I understand, but "leaking" in the night has be concerned. Maybe it is time for Depends! yikes, he's only 4 1/2! lol! Oh, I should not be making fun of my boy. :o

hmmm, that's an interesting consideration. I think it was Tuesday, so 2 days ago but I was pushing his hemipene in while he was in the sink so yes, he could have taken water up. No, I do not think he has had a regular poop since then (often in his bushes so do not always know - but I doubt it). he seems fine otherwise - regular antics, appetite, basking, etc.

Maybe I will just watch and see if it stops.

thanks!
