Custom enclosure for male panther

Hi everyone

I am moving home soon and have recently been hit with the chameleon addiction after seeing one in a local store, I am lucky enough to have enough room in my home to have an office and I am planning to have a large enclosure to house a male panther.

My planned dimentions so far 4ft wide x 3ft deep x 6ft tall, I want to use mesh large enough so nails cannot get caught if he wants to climb, but not too big so all insect escape. any suggestions here? would 5mm square be ok?

also due to the size i was going to have a solid back wall with a backround to offer some stability and possibly to help control temp and humidity

Also I am hoping to have 2 lights to span the 4ft as well as a mister/rain system. I will be drawing some basic sketches and ideas and i will be posting these here!

So to all of you who have built there own habitats any tips? do's and dont's, best place in uk to source good quality mesh (pvc coated).

I have never kept a chameleon before, but I Grow plant indoors, and have a large fish tank, so i am used to temp's, humidity, ventilation and i am pretty sure i can build a lovely home

I really want to make a feature of this habitat almost like a self contained ecosystem

Regards
