custom cage design?

Cainschams

Hey everyone. I am making plans to make a custom set up for my panther chams. I was think about building one big cage and section it off. I know that I will need a barrier so my chams cant see eachother. I was wondering if they can actually feel the presence of one another and if this would drive them both crazy?

Thought i would add this. We had 3 female veiled chams all lined up on one shelf. I placed a piece of paper bag, cut to fit, on each side of the middle cage. The 2 on the outside continued to grow for the next month, but the one in the middle did not. She was eating and drinking, but was not gaining any weight. It wasn't until about 1 month had passed that i noticed while looking in one of the outside cages, i could see the shadow of a cricket in the middle cage and she was trying to catch it. At the time i thought it was funny. It took me a couple of minutes to realize that if she could see the crickets, my poor little middle child could probably see the shadows of the other 2 chameleons. Which turned out to be true. Once i realized that i doubled the thickness of the brown paper bags to make sure there was no more shadow chameleons or crickets. The next week, the middle one gained 4 grams. She has contnued to put weight on each consecutive week. She has now gained 14 gr in about 5 weeks. So whatever you put in there make sure there are no shodow puppets!!!

Thanks guys I think I read something about them being able to smell. Not sure though so I wanted to ask. Well time to get planning.

Thanks Chris. Ive been thinking of a good way to do this and your plans are great. i am going to use the 1 level, 4enclosure plans for my 2 panthers. Maybe a little taller and use 2 parts for the male. I want him to be a monster.

Thanks again, Cain
