custom built cage with pics

Probably going to be making a few more of these just larger scale this one is 24w x 18d x 24h.. as a lot of you know I currently have 5- 4 week old ambilobes and one 6 week old ambilobe.. They are still too small for this enclosure I have the 5 in the baby bin still and the 6 week in a small reptibreeze.. but I've been bored lately and decided to build this cage from scratch.. it has a foam/substrate back wall... the sides are plexiglass for humidity purposes with a strip of 2 inch screen at the back of each side for air flow.. front and top all screen.. Now I am considering getting myself a birthday present of either a 3 month nosy mitsio or 3 month nosy be to fill this cage for the time being.. still undecided lol.. I still have a few more vines and stuff to be thrown in but here's what I have so far.. hope you guys like..

That's great! I'd love to do something like this. Did you follow any tutorials? Where do you buy your materials? Did you find the cost to be much cheaper than just purchasing new?

I have watched tons of videos online and read people's blogs on how to do the spray foam back ground.. this was my first attempt though... and I've made a few of the polystyrene backgrounds before.. imo spray foam is way easier than the polystyrene you just spray it on and your good to go.. don't have to cut out a million pieces and glue it together... the cage it's self I just got bored one day and headed to home depot got all the supplies.. and in all reality it probably cost as much if not more to do it this way but I like my finished product a lot more than just a screen cage with a few plants in it... and the plaskolite sheets on the side look really nice..

7 sections of screen frame- $21
8 screen frame corners- $14
Spline- $5
Plaskolite sheet- $11
Aluminum screen- $6
2 cans great stuff foam- $12
2 tubes silicon- $14
Corugated plastic sheet for background and floor- $15
Handle- $3
Wood piece in background- $20
Bag of substrate and moss- I had it lying around but figure another $10

Then the cost of plants and vines on top of it...

So no not necessarily cheap however I'm sure all of the prices could be lowered a good bit if I priced stuff other places instead of being impulsive like I'm building a cage today lol.. honestly to me it was just fun and I will probably end up making more just to make them lol
