Cup-feeding

I've got an 18x18x36 cage for my 2.5 month male veiled cham from TikiTiki. I'm trying to cup-feed him crickets, but it doesn't seem that he's found the cup. How can I help him find the cup, and associate it with food.

does he have a main basking spot? try attaching the cup underneath his favorite spot. leave him be though, he may be food shy around people. my multituberculata will never cup/hand feed unless he is starving.

He prefers to be under the UVB, not the basking spot. I'll try that. He'll eat a hornworm in front of me, but no crickets. We've only had him for 4 days.

also, how many crickets do you put in at a time? if theres too many for his liking, the site of it might be overwhelming, leaving him to ignore the food

my guy was scared at first of the cup but after a bit he got use to it i started my cup a little bit lower in the cage so he could see them in it then over time just made it higher and i found he would only go to it if i used a clear cup and i put black plastic screen at the bottom of the cup now he loves it
