Critters from Mozambique

Here are a few of the critters that came to visit us at our place in Mozambique in December. No Chameleons unfortunately but the area is not really suited to them. The geckos would come out and sit around the lights waiting for the inevitable nightly feast to begin. The one night a massive dragon fly was taken by the chap you see here. It took him a few hours to get it down but he managed in the end. Maybe he hadn't heard of the 'no bigger than the space between the yes' rule :D

The best stuff I saw was during my dives and snorkeling in the lagoon: seahorses, pipefish, manta rays, fish, fish, fish etc. no whale sharks this time which is a first for me. I really need to get underwater housing for my camera.

I go about once every 2 years and highly recommend the trip! The seafood is amazing, straight off the boat and dirt cheap. Large prawns caught that day for around US$4/kg. A large crayfish was around $6. We went through around 20kgs in the 2 weeks we were there.
