Cripled cricket

I have been having problems with crickets jumping out of the feeder cup, so I tried something new. I broke the rear legs of the crickets. This solved the problem perfectly, but the cham won't eat them. Is this common, or is the cham just spoiled like a kid that won't eat a broken cookie.

I tried that. Have you tried with a big bottle of Fiji water? I put medium crickets in it and they cant jump too much and reach the top.

If the bottle is deep enough to prevent the crickets jumping out, how is it shallow enough for the cham to get to them? I too would like to see a picture if it's not too much trouble. Keep in mind that the cham I am dealing with is only a little over 2 months old.
