hey guys I know its probably a silly question but I was just wondering if there are any types of crickets that arent safe for my baby cham? I have only had her a week and a half and have been feeding her small crickets and dubias I get from a local reptile store. Today I went to a different reptile store to get some more crickets and they look way different than the ones I was getting before. They are really dark, almost black, and look way more ferocious lol the ones I got before were a lighter brownish color and were much less active. Just want to make sure these new crickets are okay for my little cham :)

Ahhh the black cricket rears its ugly head . Lol

I prefer the brown house cricket. The black crickets were sourced by feeder farms to replace the brown crickets after they started dying off from a disease/plague. That being said the Black crickets are here now and seem to be verrrry aggressive and carnivourious . They can and in most cases will bite your Cham. So don't leave them in the cage overnight.

I try to avoid them all together.

Seeing as how you buy Dubias. Why not start a colony. There are a few people offering starter colonies. Also some vendors still sell the brown crickets for some peace of mind.

But to answer your question. Yes they can be fed. But some people find it hard to gut load them properly because of their carnivorous nature.
