I don’t have any substrate in my cricket bin. As for temperature the bin is in a garage which is rarely cool but maybe during this time of year I could see how it could get warm. I can’t tell you the exact temperature but in the 60-70 range. The “larvae” look like oval eggs. A picture below.

I just cleaned my cricket bin that had some of these...I didn’t know that’s what they looked like!

They are fly larvae there was another member that had these in their cricket bin a week ago.
