Crickets not sticking to my cham's tongue

Good evening:

For a couple of days now my chameleon is trying to zap her crickets but she misses. We put calcium with vitamin d3 on her crickets everyday.

She is in a screen enclosure with a mist king. She is about 2 years old and she just laid some infertile eggs about 3 or 4 weka ago.

Please let me know what we can do help her.

Thanks

:D Hello and welcome to the forums. Please fill out the questionnaire in the link below with as much detail as possible. On the boeard it's usually recommended to gutload feeders with a wet and dry gutload and the dust with a plain calcium powder every day, then with a calcium with D3 2x a month and multivit. 2x a month. Make sure she is well hydrated and soon someone will help you after looking at your answers. If you could post pics of your enclosure and of her it would also help.

If you are doing a heavy dusting so your bugs are white, that might be why....
And you shouldn't be dusting d3 everyday.

You are over feeding her. Cut that amount back to 5-7 every other day, this will reduce egg production.

Where is the bottom half of the form? The part about lighting and such.
What about gut loading, supplementing, lights, temps, cage type, etc.

Sometimes if a cham is dehydrated the prey doesn't stick to the tip of their tongue as well. There's a gland on the tip that produces mucous. How is your humidity and how do you give her water?

You're probably dusting too much like has been mentioned, and with the wrong supplements. I would definitely suggest filling out the form so that the experienced keepers can help diagnose the problem.

Did you do anything different with her supplements after she laid the eggs? Was this her first clutch?
