Crickets In The Soil

Some members recommend not to have any soil on the ground unless its a female laying egg box so maybe just take the soil out and dont use it unless, Like I said its for a female to lay her eggs

When you say soil do you mean in a plant container? If so, you can secure a piece of screen or netting over the top so that can't get in the soil. Also, you can feed from a cup instead of letting them go loose inthe cage. the cup has to be deep enough and on an angle so they cannot jump out.Use an opaque cup, not clear so your chameleon does not try and shoot at the prey from the outside of the cup.You can also pull their legs off (eek) so that cannot jump. i would not leave crickets roaming in the cage at night if you are, because they have been known to bite a sleeping chameleon at night incase you did not know that.
