Cricket ventilation solution?

I have an 11 gallon plastic container for crickets. I have built a screen top, but am wondering if I vented the 4 sides with screen, would the improved air flow:

1) Reduce group deaths by allowing the toxic gases to clear out quicker, and

2) Reduce the odor generally from waste and fresh foods in the container.

If YOU have vented the sides of cricket habitats, and gotten good or poor results, please post.:D

Thanks,

Yes I have vented the sides and it does help but the best thing I found was to got to bigger tubs and screen the majority of the top

My dieoff problem was solved when I moved from a cricket keeper (like you find at Petsmart) to a large bin with 4 sides and the top ventilated.

You will find that everything stay very dry, reducing bacteria growth, smell, mold, etc. This in turn leads to much healthier crickets.
