Someone mentioned temps. Cricket growth rates are very temperature sensitive. If you want them to grow, get them above 85F. If you like them the size they are, upper 70's is good. If you need to really slow them down 70 F is good.
If you cut the egg crates (12" X 12" X 12" originally) down to 6 X 12 X 12, and glue them together as a honeycomb of 3 (Elmers glue works fine), it will maximize your ability to make the most of smaller cricket bins.
For those who have a container that can hold 1000 or more, and are looking to save money by ordering 1000 or more. If your chameleon is eating adult crickets, buy 3/4" crickets, or "not yet winged out" crickets. That way they are not almost dead from old age on arrival, have plenty of bulk on them, will last a couple weeks minimum, and allow you to save some money.
