Cricket Keeper Help

Do you retain the moisture in the dirt container after you remove it? I had no idea it was that simple to breed crickets!

I mix the dirt with water to keep the dirt at a good consistency at first gives them enough time to lay eggs befor it dries up unless it’s a really small dirt container. If it dries up it’s fine as long as it don’t harden up. Crickets breed like crazy as long as it’s warm and you don’t over feed to where the bin starts to have decaying food in it. Also Once they start to hatch they will continue to hatch for a couple weeks after the first ones start to hatch. Most people underestimate how small they actually are when they hatch, they are natt size and can easily be missed.

Temperature swings can kill them also. Make sure they are not near an ac or heater vent. Always take the dead ones out daily because they emit a toxin (its what stinks when u see dead crickets) that starts killing off the rest
