Yes I know to gut load with fruits and veggies. Oranges work great and my chameleon loves the crickets after. But I always forget to take em out within a day and they mold. I want a cricket food like the orange cubes or something that can just leave in there. So they get nutrients and such, then I'll add some real foods when I can. So suggestions on cricket feed....GO

Crickets can cause a lot of mold, I agree with KapitalJ, they need heat and lots of ventilation with the amount of fumes they produce. They need ventilation on top and both sides. In my roach bins, even my high humidity ones, I have very little fruit or veggies mold unless it's been in there 4 or more days. Crickets need way more ventilation than roaches, with roaches you can get away with just the top being ventilated, but with the amount of fumes dead crickets and their feces produce I would ventilate them FAR more.
Yea the Flukers dry cricket feed, but it's almost out and just makes a mess. So was looking for something like the cubes I could drop in and take out easily. But I know the cubes aren't very good

Fluker's is a horrible dry food, I am pretty sure it mold quickly anyway because it is mostly wheat bran and other grains. You should buy a better gutload, there are some made by forum members on here that are sold by Nick Barta, and there are also other's made by forum sponsors. You should feed a dry feed in a dish, it makes less of a mess.
Yea I use greens when I have em. Wanna start hitting the farmers market so should have em more often. And the bin I just use a clear one of those big whey protein containers rather than spend $30 on a plastic box. Those cricket crate things have horrible ventilation too. So I'll take what I'm using and poke lots of little holes around the bottom sides for more ventilation, thanks! Still looking for a type of feed I can buy once and use for a while though, rather than constantly buying fruits and veggies.
I do. They shit all in the dish, spread it everywhere and turns to goo with the shit and dead crickets. Yes I know Flukers sucks and I need a new feed. That is the whole purpose of this post.

The holes will most likely not be enough ventilation. There needs to be large holes cut on the side and galvanized wire bug screening to cover it. Which is probably why your crickets and food are turning to goo, too much humidity. You should still change the food out every other day. I do that with my roaches.
Edit: There's Cricket Crack, Bug Buffet, Super Chow, and Spoiled Rotten Roach Chow. The last one is the one I make, it's going to be available through Nick Barta soon, I have never use the other three but I have used mine regularly and even in GBR container which has about 80% humidity on a regular basis doesn't mold or turn to goo until about the 2 week. I assume anything with the base being alfalfa would have the same affect. I think alfalfa is less likely to mold, though I'm not for certain.

Yea I can cut large holes in it and place screen over them for more ventilation soon. Thanks for the feed choices! Will see if anybody votes on certain ones...

Definitely the easiest route and it will last you forever. I bought a bunch of stuff from bulkfoods .com 3 years ago and i still have stuff left.
