Cricket Crack

I'm about to purchase my first batch of Cricket Crack. I desperately need a dry gutload because I can't find anything worth while in town. Since everyone swears by it.. I figured I'd buy 1lb to start with. Does it matter if I get the regular CC or Montane CC? Is there a preference for a Veiled?

I have been using it for several years. My crickets love it and my chams are healthy. Can't get much better than that!

I'm really excited for it! How long is its shelf life? If I were to buy 5 lb next time and I only have 1 cham. Or should I just get 1lb at a time.

I've got a good wet gutload for my little man. The crickets refused to eat it when the staple was more green. I'm concerned with the actual vitamins he is getting from it though. I hope its balanced. My wet gutload consists of orange, apple, collard greens, butternut squash, organic carrots, blueberries, and sweet potato. I added more fruit so they would actually eat it. I blended it and froze the rest in little zip lock baggies. So every 2 days I will thaw a bag and put it on a baby food top for them. Its the only thing I can find shallow enough that they can reach and not drown in. Haha. I don't have a baby...

I want a healthy dry gutload that the crickets will love. Do you guys think my wet GL is alright? I feel like I need at least one more green or veggie.

Cricket crack is fantastic stuff, just get the regular mix. Also if you're in a bind or want to try and make your own, check out Sandracham's blog, she has a fantastic recipe(https://www.chameleonforums.com/blogs/sandrachameleon/394-dry-gutload-recipe-january-2010.html). Also read all her blogs you will learn a lot :D she is very detailed.

I have been reading her stuff for a while now! She is very talented. It's almost intimidating. Haha! If only.. if only.

But I live in a small town. We have a WALMART, TJ Maxx, Kroger.. and that's about it. Trust me, I have spent hours looking for even three of the ingredients on that list. Nothing. I figure I can make the wet and buy the dry.

One pound of dry will last you quite awhile. It will stay fresh. You can always keep it in the fridge I guess. I just keep it in a closed container in a cabinet and use it as I go.

Thanks! Is Tiki Tiki the only place to get it? Just out of curiosity. I'm putting my order through now. I didn't know if this was their recipe or if others make it too.

Ok so I've been eding my crickets mustard collard greens and oranges. Buut I want to upgrade.. I seen that Bug Burger had VIT D and scared me away.. can someone reffer me to some cricket crack? And I can use it with Flukers Cricket water with Calc. Correct?

I'm sure you could use the Fluker's Gel with it. I've noticed that when I put water in with the crickets gutload they don't eat it. I would throw a couple more things together for a gutload. It's pretty inexpensive especially if you buy a couple of things at once and then blend it. Just throw the blend in an ice tray or a little bit in a bunch of each zip lock and use them one by one. I'm sure with the dry GL we would need a water source though. You could use the water crystals or throw a potato, carrot, mustard greens, etc. that has water in it. It might entice them to eat that to get their water.
