Crepe Myrtle

I have some Crepe Myrtles that I will be trimming again and wondered if these branches are safe for Chameleons. I know that they are okay for Birds, I have a 25 year old Blue Front Amazon that has been using branches as perches since he was 4, so I am thinking it is safe, but I wanted to make sure.

My friend suggested them to me as well. She's a birder and uses them with all of her birds.

I dried them real good in the oven and then roughed em up a little. To me they should be fine.. Very much like Manzanita wood. I'd like to hear from the experts though :)

I don't use the oven, but I spray a strong solution of bleach on them and then rinse them out really good. Then I pop them in the attic for the summer and presto....instant (and free) perches.

kind of off topic. but i call them crap myrtles because we used to have them all over my block and they would drop stuff all over our cars. btw my grandma used to put her african grey in a crepe myrtle so i would assume it is pretty good for lizards.
