Crawling on the ground???

Today my 7 mo old nosy be, Yogi, just started crawling around on the ground in his cage. He has NEVER done that before... and though he seems to be doing fine other than that (eating a lot, good colors), I'm worried that something might be wrong.

What would be causing him to do this? Thought it might be the heat, but the temp only gets up to 80 in there...

Is he still on the ground? Do you have him a basking spot warmer than 80?

No, he's not on the ground right now, but he's been going up and down all day. His basking spot is about 80 degrees, mid cage high 70s and floor 72-75.

Perhaps he is becoming more mature, Spring is in the air, and he was thinking about how to escape the cage and find himself a gf

He is a he for sure? If he wasnt a he that could be your reason for bein on the ground he is a bit young but some of em grow up fast.
