I was sure we had a thread about this, but I can't find it now. Last night I FINALLY finished the blanket I knitted fir our realtor who was so wonderful when we moved to the US, it was like having a dad living nearby. His wife is a huge Yankees fan so I made this, it took me 8 months and no, I'm not making anything similar ever again.

That's impressive! First, I am impressed by the amount of patience you must have- I could NEVER, EVER pay attention long enough to knit even a scarf. Second, it looks amazing! Nice job!

I feel like I've just got out pf prison! Imagine the possibilities! I can knit anything I like! Or go back to the scratchy, shedding sweater my mum is making me knit for her...

Someone once said "If I'm sittin', I'm knittin'." And that's pretty true for me. I'd love to knit you all awesome blankies, but you're lining them yourselves, that was an epic PITA to do by hand. Didn't realise my incredibly awesome sewing machine wouldn't run on the lower voltage here...

I've been told before that I should sell things, trouble with hand-knitting is that it takes so long you either just cover your yarn costs or charge more for it than anyone would ever pay! I probably put well over 200 hours into this, all told. The yarn itself cost me $30.

So I stick to making cool stuff for friends! And toys for my children to put in their closet and forget about. Knitted hundreds of boobs for work too.

I'm a breastfeeding counsellor/lactation consultant, knitted tits are ideal for demonstrating hand expressing and various aspects of effective latching. And they are funny.

oh ok!! I never even heard of a breastfeeding counselor. I wish someone would have told me 22 yrs ago when I had my son, that it would ruin my boobs! lol I suppose I still would have done it for the sake of the child!

I crochet and one of the best known crochet artists is famous for her full scale nudes...I just think, WOW! you are a better woman than I.

Eliza have you tried using a circular needle. Very good for sore joints as all your work is in front of you instead of on either side. Different arm action, more wrist.

IT DOESN'T RUIN YOUR BOOBS. Capitals for emphasis! Pregnancy does the 'ruining', with various other factors contributing such as age, genetics and whether you smoke, but breastfeeding does not ruin boobs, several studies have been published.
