Ok, thank you. I needed someone to confirmthose are definetely eggs. you can see the oval shapes in her abdominal area.
She started digging around 4-5 days ago (just a shallow tunnel), but since then nothing. I've covered her cage today, but it's already night time for her, so I have to wait till tommorow to see if she will dig again.well it depends on how long shes been makin gthose eggs.
if shes only two weeks into it, they arent ready to be laid yet.
i would for now, just give her 24/7 access to her lay bin, and leave her be.
if another 2 weeks pass, and she hasnt laid, then you can take her back to the vet for a oxytocin shot, which will stimulate the need to lay.

Ok, thank you. You've calmed me down a littleshe may have just been poking around.
my female dug a shallow tunnel.. left it.. waited 2 more days, then really got down to it and dug 9 inches down.
just keep an eye on her. any change in behavior, lethargy, weakness in limbs etc. go back to the vet. otherwise, she will lay when shes ready.
What do you think, could it be a reason she is gravid now?
I guess lesson learnedThere's no way to confirm that of course, but I think it has been confirmed that just the sight of a male can stimulate egg cycling. So it's a definite possibility...............
I guess lesson learned![]()
Wow 57 from a panther female? I hope I won't have that manyI did it on purpose with my girl for a batch of unfertilised eggs. It went very well, only 31 eggs..............now I've made some sort of error with the breeding batch and I have 57 (too many!) fertile eggs in the incubator. I feel a bit guilty that it shortened her life...........this is how life goes though, they have a lot less stress with us than in the wild![]()

I get it, but soon you will be overflowed with cutnessMine is a Veiled, but still I wanted a lot less.
Yes, I know veileds can lay big clutches, but I thought panthers lay rather smaller ones. Am I right?panthers and veileds can lay alot of eggs.
my female veiled laid 38 eggs her first fertile clutch, and 30 eggs her second (thankfully infertile) clutch.
