A NORTH Las Vegas Police officer suffered only minor injuries when his badge deflected a bullet fired by a gunman, the Las Vegas Sun reported today.
The 31-year-old officer was on patrol late Saturday night when he heard shots at an apartment complex and encountered a “suspicious person,” the paper said, quoting police.
There was an exchange of gunfire and the officer was hit in the badge, which deflected the bullet. The suspect, who fled, may also have been hit, police said.
