Convenient Cage Accessories

Hi, this post is for any type if convenient accessory you have or know of. I am not talking about bendy branches or humidity meters I mean more unneeded accessories like foggers and other accessories that I will learn from your replies as I am new to the chameleon world and want to trick out my cage!;)

I don't think I would recommend any "unneeded" stuff for your chameleon because they are just that. If you want to spend some money to make your cham happy, get good food, supplements, and lights. Put some coin away for a vet visit in case something ever goes south. My 2 cents. Oh and plants. Good plants -=)

I mean is you have some extra money saved up getting something that with kinda pimp out your cage like a passion flower plant or foam inserts (or any type of custom thing that looks cool and is affecting the cham in a good way).I just want some ideas for what I should do.

Automated mister like a Mist King and a nice drainage system will do your cham good.

Those two things are #1A and #1B when you can afford them. A good plug-in strip with a timer is also another life saver. Good quality lighting (I just upgraded to Light Your Reptiles fixtures... omg why did i wait so long???) and surge protectors are also a must.

After that, it's not as sexy as you were wanting, but bending vines, mushroom ledges, real plants, real sticks, and other things to climb are the best accessories. For looks, I like small bromeliads for a little color. They do well being misted daily, so as long as they drain well, they should flourish.

I have a bunch of plants in my cage and have a hollow space on the bottom and was wondering if I could put a pepper plant there?

Real plants and vines are your best bet on a budget. None of that plastic stuff, or rubber vines that look like those big pretzels you buy at the local mall.

I got a fogger the other day and hopefully its a good one.On ebay those little ones pack a punch if they are good ones but can also be realy bad ones that don't work at all.It should be here on the 20th.I bet I can make something equivalent to the daylight thing on your last post only spending about $50.

I don't have any fake plants in there, all real.I have money tree, kalanchoe, jasmine, honeysuckle, ficus, and if I can put one in I want a pepper plant in there.:)

Lathis isn't those lights the best. The only thing that would make them even better is being able to do what the mist king link shows. I have tried to figure out how to do this with lightyourreptiles lights. I have looked into some of those units that control all of the sunrise and sunset stuff but it doesn't work with the lights.

You have a veiled right? A fogger is not really needed for that species because the originate from Yemen, it's mostly desert there from my understanding. Panthers come from Madagascar and are a more tropical species that a fogger might benefit.

That would be awesome, but a little over kill for me. Ferdinand is right next to the sliding door, so I try to just time his lights with the sunset/sunrise; in the winter, I run his cage lights a little longer in the evening.

Now... an automated system that gets the sunrise/sunset local time from the internet and adjusts the dimming accordingly on a daily basis... that would be awesome. Maybe I'll set the hubby on that task :)

Something like this maybe. I know there are actual stand alone LED kits people used for reefs. It was super cool, but a luxury I didn't have the $$$ for.
