I can see the picture too. The white looks like urate to me. You should see that with just about every poop. That's how it's always worked when I've had the chance to watch: urate first, fecal matter second.
White (or cream) urate generally means hydration is good, so your chameleon is, by the look of things, drinking.
I still think that he's a shower pooper. That's just my opinion, but it matches what you've reported. It seems like some of them prefer to poop when there's a good rainstorm going on. I suppose that makes some sense in the wild, it's better to have that washed away, right?
I don't know how long you mist now, but if you could increase the time you might find him pooping more naturally in the cage without you having to resort to showers.
Be aware that many (perhaps most) adult chameleons do not poop on a daily basis. Don't get your expectations up too high. If you are getting poop even once a week (and it's healthy looking poop) then I think you can consider that things are going well.
