Constipated chameleon?

I've noticed in the last few days that my panther chameleon's tail at the base has been thicker than normal. It's almost as if he has some poop stuck and can't release himself. Is anyone familiar with this?

Hard to say what it could be without seeing photos.
Might be a sperm plug though.

he is about 4.5 months old, and i did just see him go to the bathroom. is the base of the tail supposed to be THAT thick?

It does look pretty thick. All I can suggest is that if you're concerned about it you take it to a vet and have it checked out.
