Concerns about UVB

Hi
I recently bought a 2 week old veiled chameleon male. And I don't use UVB bulb. I sunbathe it with unfiltered natural sunlight every day or 2 for about 10-30mins. Is that enough ?
And I have 2 juvenile lobster roaches who escaped. One in my room and one in the bathroom. Shall I worry about infestation ?

No its not enough.

You need to use a uvb bulb.

you can try using a slightly used one, or raise the bulb higher off the cage, but he needs uvb for 12 hours a day.

as for the lobster roaches, you should be fine

Currently they're out of stock

Well, alrighty then.

Have you looked online for any?

I know here in the USA you can buy them off Amazon.

Got something like that there?

If not, just leave it in the sun for as long as you can, but make sure temps don't get too hot.

Yes I looked and I'll be buying. Delivery is next Saturday. What shall I do in the meantime ?
I always order from amazon but not bulbs, they are always defective

Its very important you research and get everything well established for your veiled. It will need a 5.0 UVB light that will need to get replaced every 6-7 months. And a basking light probably a 75 Watt it depends how the setup is setup lol. And you will also need to dust the food with calcium and supplement and stuff like that. Look here in the forums and you will find helpful stuff.

Since he hatched he only recieved 2 hours of sunlight and I finally managed to get a UVB bulb.
Will he be fine ?

He should be fine, but you need to get the bulb on him asap and make sure it stays on for around 10-12 hours per day, give or take,

I usually keep my chammies close to the sun cycle. so lights on at dawn, and lights off at dusk. give or take an hour or so.

just make sure that the uvb isn't too intense for him. if you see him shutting his eyes, it might be too much, so you can raise the uvb up some to help with thisl

The real thing is much better than the bulb, but when the real thing cant happen, (too hot, too cold, or too cloudy) the bulb will work just fine.

During winter none of my chams see the outside world.

The temps are high where you live so not so sure you are ok with the roach situation. Not an expert by any means but the hotter it gets the more they breed. Where I live it gets very cold and if they escaped they would just die. But if it is as dry there as I think it is you might be ok if they have no access to water. They are a tropical insect from the caribbean.
