I picked up this female panther chameleon yesterday from a local pet store. She is currently being treated for a fungal infection on her face. The LPS said she has had this black spot under her mouth for a couple months, they treated with antibiotics and it got worse so they switched to antifungal and said it hasn't grown since they started the new treatment but it hasn't gotten much better. I plan on cleaning it out with provodine-iodine 10% solution diluted to 1:10 with lukewarm water, followed by the antifungal cream.
Any ideas on what is going on?
The closest reptile vet is 2 hours away. If she hasn't improved in 1 week I plan on taking her there.
She was in a very small screen cage when I bought her, her new enclosure is 2x2x4 reptibreeze screen cage.
Misted twice daily, once at 7am and at 7pm.
Basking spot temp is around 95 degrees
Bottom of cage stays around 72-74 when heat light is on. Night time temp drops to around 69-70, there is a space heater on a thermostat to keep the room warm.
I feed, gut loaded crickets, dubia roaches and horn worms.
I haven't seen her eat at home yet but she ate in the pet store before she came home.
Pictures attached, the cage on the left is her cage.
